Training Duration and Costs
- Many variables affect the total cost of learning to fly, these include: aircraft type, frequency of training and student aptitude.
- National average for a Private Pilot Certificate from start to finish: $9,900
Keep in mind these costs are spread out over the duration of your training which can be between 4-12 months depending on the frequency of training. The total cost can be minimized by increasing your training frequency to stay current and fresh.
As a benchmark, taking into consideration days when the weather is not suitable for flying, a student that devotes 1 day per week to flight training can expect to complete their training in 12 months.
