It starts... with a first step, a first flight, a first lesson, a first entry. Soon after, you realize there’s so much more to you, then you imagined.

V-Speeds - Vne, Vso, Vx, Vy - are aviation airspeeds for specific maneuvers and flight configurations. This one defines a maneuver - on 2/14 - for your own special configuration.

/ Reflections of a Student Pilot /

I try to squeeze a flight lesson in once a week. In general this tends to work out. Weather, holidays, and an extra week I took to do some added reading between lessons have been my delays. I know this is not a fast track pace, but my flying interests are for family travel and recreation.

What I do know is that getting into a lesson, no matter how many days since the last, is better than not scheduling one at all. Personally, it’s a completely feel good thing; new knowledge and heightened capabilities driving the feeling. From a learning perspective, even with my modest schedule, my skills and understanding of piloting an aircraft have continually progressed.

I’m still a total newbie, with a tiny 12 hours logged in the air. But in my short time, and with one lesson a week, it’s something I can’t image not doing.

My next lesson, Thursday. I can’t wait.
